How It Works
Storing your important documents with Will & Trust Repository is simple. Here's how the process works from start to finish.
Create your account
Sign up for a storage plan and create your secure client portal account. You'll receive login credentials and instructions for document intake.
Send your documents
Mail your original documents to our Chicago office or schedule a drop-off appointment. We accept wills, trusts, deeds, powers of attorney, and other estate documents.
Set up succession access
Use your client portal to designate vault contacts — the people who can access your documents. Set conditions: immediate access, upon death, upon incapacity, or upon written request.
Documents stay safe
Your originals remain in our attorney-supervised vault. Retrieve them anytime through your portal, or your designated successors can claim access when conditions are met.
Frequently Asked Questions
What documents can I store?
We store original wills, trusts, deeds, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, insurance policies, and other important estate documents. Both physical originals and digital copies are supported.
How do I send my documents?
You can mail your documents via USPS, FedEx, or UPS to our Chicago office, or schedule an in-person drop-off appointment. We provide a prepaid shipping label for Single and Family Bundle plans.
Who can access my documents?
Only you can access your documents during your lifetime unless you designate vault contacts with specific access conditions. You control who gets access, when, and under what circumstances.
What happens when I pass away?
Your designated vault contacts can submit a succession claim through our website. They'll need to provide proof of death and identity. Our attorney reviews each claim before releasing documents.
Can I get my documents back?
Yes, anytime. Log into your client portal and request a retrieval. Choose standard or expedited shipping. Your documents will be sent to the address on file or a new address you specify.
